Many parents were insisting on starting a school by the Archdiocese, seeing the high academic standards maintained by other institutions of the Archdiocese. Though the demand is a decade old, it is only now that we could fulfill this need of the time and the aspiration of the parents. Finally we are undertaking this venture as a part of fulfilling the church's social commitment and responsibility.

Sanjos Metropolitan School was inaugurated by His Grace Mar George Valiamattam, Archbishop of Tellicherry on 10th June 2002. The school started to function on the same day itself with 185 students and 8 members of staff (seven teaching and one non-teaching). It is an English Medium Co-Education School, following CBSE syllabus with emphasis on the character formation of the children.

Our Philosophy
Our vision is essentially rooted in the ancient Indian culture that is noted for its tolerance and relentless search for wisdom. Sanjos Metropolitan School is secular in its outlook and believes that India in the third millennium needs committed citizens who can lead the nation to new heights.

Our Goals
We want not only to impart quality education through following CBSE Syllabus for the intellectual development of the students but also to inculcate basic social, human and spiritual values for a peaceful atmosphere in the society and state as a whole.

To train children as individuals and help them bring out the best in them in the academic and social pursuit, we envisage to impart the best education, to build good character and to implant self confidence and mental outlook.

To impart a new culture of love, a culture of respect for every form of life in place of the rampant culture of death and disrespect of life.

To develop social, cultural, national and international consciousness in children with the help of parents for the well being of the humanity and to help them to work for it with a sense of dedication.

To provide opportunities for developing talents in the areas of sports, fine arts, performing arts etc. so as to enable the students to achieve an integral personality.

According to the teachings of the church “true education is directed towards the formation of the human person in view of his ultimate goal and the good of the society”.

Education imparted at Sanjos Metropolitan School, opens the heart rather than the mind and pursues excellence in all aspects of life and activity.

The students are encouraged to make sound moral judgement based on a well-formed conscience and put them into practise with a sense of personal commitment. Thus they will know and love God intensely.

We undertake measures to brighten the future of every person with whom we come in contact with. They should imbibe a “spirit of attentiveness to others, characterized by firmness and gentleness”, making him or her useful to the society and helping all, to become aware of their own dignity and destiny.
